WITHOUT WORDS ~ SILVER AND WHITE

Hello and welcome...
We have a pretty silver and white card today, suitable for several occasions.

It is frustrating when mirri card does not show well on photographs....  that's my excuse anyhow!  I started with a white 8" square card base and trimmed a sheet of silver mirri to leave a narrow border.  I used the largest die from the Decorative Blossom Corner Set and die cut in the top left and bottom right of the mirri card.  I then cut a border in the middle of the mirri to expose the white base card.  I added dries clear glue to the back of these two pieces and adhered to the card base.  Next I die cut and embossed the Royal Love Die twice on silver mirri and once on white card.  The two mirri die cuts were glued together then I added glue to the white die cut and adhered this, slightly offset, onto the mirri card, to give a shadow effect.  I then die cut 2 more pieces of white card using the Stitched Flags from the Frames & Tags Collection, glued these together and added mounting foam to the back.  This was then adhered to the centre 'panel' with the topper adhered to it.  I added two crystal twinkle stars to either end of the white panel and to complete I added Glossy Accents along the border and main focal point.

KEY TO MY HEART

Hello and welcome to today's ...
Double Gate Fold Card
I started with a full sheet (A4) of sherbet foundation card and scored it in 2 places on the left, turned the card around and replicated the score marks.
From the Bloomsbury Collection A4 Paper Pad I chose 2 pretty papers, measured the inner part of the card and cut the paper accordingly.  With the deeper shade of paper I matted 2 pieces of this onto 2 separate pieces of white foundation card and adhered these to the 2 outer panels.  Next I die cut and embossed 2 of the Medallion Seven Die Set in white card and sherbet card.  I then overlapped the white slightly onto the sherbet die cut and used Cosmic Shimmer Dries Clear PVA Glue to adhere these together and repeated the same with the two other die cut pieces.  I also die cut and embossed the inner circular die from the same set in sherbet card stock.  I then die cut and embossed the smallest die from one of my very favourite die sets, Fleur de Lis Squares,  4 in sherbet and 2 in white card stock.  I used 2 free stamps to stamp 'always and be mine' in StazOn Jet Black ink pad onto the 4 sherbet die cuts.  From the same free stamp set I stamped the main sentiment, again using StazOn Jet Black ink, onto white foundation card.  I then fussy cut this out.  Next I die cut and embossed the larger oval die from the Vintage Labels Two Die Set onto another piece of sherbet card stock.  I added foam tape to both the sentiment and the sherbet card stock and adhered to the centre of the inner panel of the card.  To complete I added cosmic shimmer glue to one half of each of the medallion die cuts and adhered to the outer panels as shown above, I then added mounting foam to all 6 Fleur de Lis Squares and adhered them, again, as shown above.  Finally, using a ball tool, I shaped the 2 smallest circle die cuts, adhered them into the centres of the white die cuts and added a small flat back pearl to the centre of each and also to the centre of both small white Fleur de Lis Squares.

JUST FOR YOU

Hello and welcome...
We have a kind of florist shop theme showing today
I scored a piece of A4 ivory card stock in half to create an A5 card base.

I then used my Hougie Board to score 2 vertical lines on the front of the card, then turned the card around to score another 2 horizontal lines, unfortunately you can't see these as well on the photograph.

Next I die cut and embossed the hobnail vase 3 times, the tranquil poppy 3 times, the maidenhead fern 4 times and the delicate daisies 8 times using the 2 smallest dies for the daisies.

I cut part of the top and bottom away from one vase and cut away more of the same for the third vase.  Using my bone folder tool I curved all 3 vases.

I coloured the poppies using ProMarkers and removed the head only from one of the flowers, I 'tweaked' the petals on the cut off head then glued it to the complete poppy.  The poppies were then adhered to the inside of the vase.

I shortened 2 of the ferns prior to gluing them onto the vase and cut away some of the leaves on the remaining 2 ferns.

I added some colour to the daisies as well as cutting 4 thin 'green stalks' and they were glued inside the smallest of the vases.

Once I was happy with the position of all 3 vases I added cosmic shimmer glue to the backs and adhered them into place on the front of the card.

Using a pencil I added several horizontal strokes to the underneath of each vase so that they did not look as if they were 'floating' in mid air.

To complete I stamped the sentiment to the top right of the card.

INGREDIENTS:
  • ivory card stock ~ my stash
  • Finishing Touches - Hobnail Vase ~ Sue Wilson/Creative Expressions
  • Finishing Touches - Tranquil Poppy ~ as above
  • Finishing Touches - Maidenhair Fern ~ as above
  • Finishing Touches - Delicate Daisies Complete Petals ~ as above
  • ProMarkers - Poppy, Pine, Grass, Tulip Yellow
  • StazOn Jet Black Ink Pad
  • Cosmic Shimmer Dries Clear PVA Glue ~ Creative Expressions
  • Just For You Sentiment ~ my stash
  • Glue dots ~ Woodware
  • Pencil

  • Acknowledgement given to Sue Wilson who originally reduced the size on the vases for her cards

ALCOHOL INKS, A STRAW AND CARD WINNER!

Hello and welcome...
Following yesterday's cards of wintery scenes I thought it best to have a splash of colour today and here is the card!

A very quick card to create, you will never make two the same and ideal for the younger people in your life, or, change the sentiment and it would be suitable for virtually anyone!

INGREDIENTS:
  • DL white card base
  • black and white foundation card by Creative Expressions (CE)
  • chrome gloss foundation card (CE)
  • alcohol inks in; cool pearl, lemonade and raspberry ~ Tim Holtz/Ranger
  • birthday wishes die ~ Expressions Collection ~ Sue Wilson/(CE)
  • cosmic shimmer dries clear PVA glue
  • one straw

  • You must use gloss card for this technique otherwise the alcohol inks will just soak into ordinary card and leave 'dollops' of the ink
  • I cut a piece of white gloss card 7.75" x 3.25" then dropped some raspberry alcohol ink onto it and gently blew the ink using a straw.  I did this several times with the raspberry then the same with the cool pearl and finally lemonade
  • The ink dries practically instantly!
  • I mounted the gloss card onto a very thin black mat then adhered it onto the base card
  • I die cut 2 of the sentiments in black card and one in white.  Glued the 2 black together then glued this onto the white card, overlapping slightly, to give a shadow effect

The winner of Saturday's card is
PAM

TWO CARDS, ONE STAMP AND A HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Hello and welcome...
This is my birthday weekend LOL (funny how we no longer have a 'birthday')
hence today's late post and I'll confirm only 2 G&Ts passed my lips yesterday!
It's been so cold here these past few days that when I saw this stamp winking at me in my studio I thought I'd better give it an airing.  So here goes:

One stamp = two cards!
INGREDIENTS:
  • black and white foundation card ~ Creative Expressions (CE)
  • Winter Trees Stamp ~ Chocolate Baroque
  • Versa Mark Ink Pad ~ Tsukineko
  • Cosmic Shimmer Detail Embossing Powder 'True White' ~ CE
  • Cosmic Shimmer 'Diamond Snow'  Glitter ~ CE
  • double sided adhesive sheet ~ CE
  • the card on the left was stamped with 'True White' embossing powder and heat set
  • I then added the stamped image to several thin mats of white and black card stock and finally onto a white base card
  • the sentiment was stamped using StazOn Jet Black, apologies as I don't know the make of the sentiment.... I'm still trying to locate its carrier sheet hoping a name will be on that.
  • both sentiments were stamped the same
With the exception of thin mats in off white, the card on the right was made the same way.  Once the image had been heat set I covered it with  double sided adhesive sheet, removed the backing and sprinkled it with the 'Diamond Snow Glitter Jewels'

Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog, I hope my designs have given a little inspiration.
I read all your comments and really appreciate you leaving me a message.
