Hello and welcome...
We have a channel card for you this morning

I started with a white A4 card base, scored it in half to give me an A5.  I added a layer of aqua card to the base.  I cut another piece of white card to A5 then cut away a piece of this card at a diagonal angle, to create a 'channel'.

The bottom piece of card was then embossed, mounting foam added to the back of it then placed in situ onto my card base.

On the top, plain piece of card I stamped then embossed the sentiment then added mounting foam to the back.

I used the scalloped piece of another die set and die cut it onto aqua card.  This was then glued to the edge of the top portion, backing tape removed from the mounting foam and adhered into place.

I used 4 butterflies from the 'Magical Butterflies' Die Set and  die cut and embossed onto vellum.  I added glitter jewels 'iced snow' to the very tiny butterfly, and a few flat back pearls to its spine then adhered to the card just under the sentiment.

On the outer die cut pieces of vellum, for the two largest butterflies, I lightly inked with 'fossilized amber' Distress Oxide Ink, shaped these a little, added glue to the spine and underneath prior to adhering into the 'channel' section.

With the filigree top part of the butterflies I sprayed on adhesive then sprinkled them with glitter jewels ' diamond snow'.  These were then glued onto the 2 flat bases and various flat back pearls added to the spines.

I die cut the remaining half butterfly twice, removed the antennae from one, sprayed adhesive to both parts and covered them with glitter jewels 'diamond snow'.  I glued the two pieces together ensuring the underneath part was slightly raised to give the impression it was in flight and adhered it to the centre of the channel, just below the other two butterflies.

To complete I placed a tiny black dot on each of the antennaes and added a few more flat back pearls to the upper part of the card

We hope to see you back tomorrow for our 'Saturday Special Give-Away Card'

ONE PIECE MISSING

Hello and welcome...
We have a fun card for you today
I used a pre-cut blank jigsaw and coloured the background in 2 of the new Distress Oxide Inks.  I stamped the owl image, and the 3 sentiments that are part of this set, onto the jigsaw base using Jet Black StazOn.  I coloured the owl using several ink pens as well as using white ModgePodge on the eyes. Prior to adhering the stamped jigsaw to white card, leaving a narrow border,  I removed one of the jigsaw pieces, and matted the focal point onto paper that I distressed around all the edges and curled the top right corner.  This was then adhered to the blue pearlised  card base at a jaunty angle.  I then added mounting foam to the removed piece of jigsaw and adhered it to the bottom right of the design as well as popping a ladybird on top of it.  I sorted a few wooden strawberries, coloured them then glued them into place.  I also added a few ladybirds and 2 gold metal butterflies.  A fun card on what was another wet and cold day
INGREDIENTS:
  • pearlised blue card base ~ Crafter's Companion
  • backing paper ~ free with an old craft magazine

WITH LOVE

Hello and welcome...

No, it's not your eyesight, panic over!  The design is supposed to look this way lol. I love using this technique and for our class on Monday I thought we'd try this just as a 'starter' before we made the 'main' card.  The ladies really had a ball creating their own designs and the photographs below show just how serious they were taking their 'blowing' technique.  I think they created about 4 designs each and, guess what, in between the chat and coffee break, the 'main' card did not get made but we already had the packs ready so they took them with them, I think I'm right in saying a tad reluctantly ;) to do at home and bring back to the class next month for us to see their finished card :)
So on with this card.  I used 4 different alcohol inks to create the 'design' and added a few droplets of colour onto gloss card.  It must be gloss card when using these inks otherwise the colour will just soak into ordinary card.  With a straw 'at the ready' a  few drops of colour was sprinkled onto the gloss card and gentle blowing through the straw sent the colour into different areas.  When completed I embossed the card using the ocean waves embossing folder and that is why the card looks 'fuzzy' when photographed, it doesn't in the 'flesh'.  I backed this onto a thin black mat, stamped a sentiment using Jet Black StazOn that I also matted onto black card and adhered this to the side of the main focal point.  I used a strip of black florist ribbon and cut it into 3 different widths then wrapped it, vertically, around the card.  I stamped and embossed a verse onto a 'free paper' set with one of the card magazines.  I do love this verse!

INGREDIENTS:
  • White card stock ~ Papermill
  • White gloss card ~ Creative Expressions (CE)
  • Cosmic Shimmer Dries Clear PVA Glue ~ CE
  • Ocean Waves Embossing Folder ~ Sue Wilson/CE
  • Cosmic Shimmer Detail Embossing Powder, True White ~ CE
  • Adirondack Alcohol Inks:  Lemonade, Raspberry, Red Pepper, Sail Boot Blue ~ Ranger
  • Never Give Up Stamp ~ Visible Image
  • With Love Stamp ~ my stash (I think)
  • Jet Black Ink Pad ~ StazOn/Tsukineko
  • VersaMark Watermark Stamp Pad ~ Tsukineko
  • Platinum Die Cutting/Embossing Machine ~ Spellbinders
Some serious blowing technique going on here lol

Marion looks as if she is blowing my hubby a raspberry lol and he only came into the room
to make the refreshments haha

Mary is still ignoring Marion and concentrating on her masterpiece.
Marion is looking set to play a tune on that straw lol

Hello and welcome...
to a very wet, cold and miserable day here!
We have a lovely bright and cute card for you this morning and for such a small card there does seem to be a lot of products used!
This little card is just short of being 5"x6".
I started with a piece of white card and die cut the outer frame of the Tag Duo Set from the Indian Ocean Collection to the bottom right of my card.  I then applied some Mowed Lawn and Mustard Seed Distress Ink to my craft mat and spritzed it with water. I scrumpled a cello bag and dabbed it into the mustard seed then onto the card base.  I repeated this using the mowed lawn then applied my heat gun to dry it.  From my stash I coloured the word hello in different shades using; mowed lawn, worn lipstick, wildflower, orange and teal. The 'hello' was then glued to the white fall out piece of card.  Diamond Sparkle was carefully added around this piece followed by a small piece of acetate to cover the die cut area, and glued over the glitter jewels and 'hello.' I re-seated this on the card front.  I die cut the 'dancing tulips' in yellow card, the ornate poppy in red card and one scribble flower in white card.   I die cut this flower twice so that I could overlap the petals as well as fussy cutting a thin piece of white card as a stalk for this flower. I also die cut the poppy twice, removed the stalk from one flower, gave this cut off head some shape using my ball tool prior to adhering it to the complete flower.  A flat back black gem was glued to the centre of the flower and I added a little colour to the centre of the scribble flower using a lime green gel pen.
I added a piece of mounting foam to the poppy head and glued this to the card, I used wet glue to adhere the two other flower heads to the card and snipped off the stalks that covered the hello area then glued the remaining bottom pieces of stalks to the card.  I created a frame in white card from the pierced rectangle dies 5 and 4.

Saturday's card has been claimed and is now on its way to its new home

BACK TO BASICS!

Hello and welcome...
It's good to be 'back' lol
I thought for today I would should you how, using only a few items, can create a gorgeous card.

I started with a white, 6" square card base and added a layer of Antique Gold Foundations Pearl Card followed by a layer of white card.  I used a Woodware Corner Punch (still unable to find the name for it) on all four sides of the white card then adhered it to the gold pearl card and then onto the base card.  I think this particular corner punch is very pretty.
Using one of my favourite 'oldies', Spellbinders Labels Twenty-Four, I die cut and embossed, alternatively, the gold and white card stock, using the largest die first on the gold card.
On the final white card I stamped the sentiment from the Sweet Wishes Collection using a Jet Black StazOn Inkpad... (this ink does just that, 'StazOn' and will not smudge).  With the sentiment now stamped, die cut then embossed and on each of the 4 layers I added mounting foam to the back for dimension then adhered to the centre of my card.  The verse is another 'oldie' by Creative Expressions and stamped onto one of the very pretty papers from Lemon Craft Paper Pad.

Saturday's card winner will be announced at 10am, hope to see you back then
