HAPPY ANNIVERSARY ~ CARD COMMISSION

Hi, thanks for stopping by...

This card was made for the same recipient as yesterday's card.
It is an 8" square white card base and I added this rich red paper that already had the  black and white card heart printed on it.  I added the 'scroll' lines to the bottom using a quickie glue pen then sprinkled WOW Black Twinkle Embossing Powder over it and heat set.
I did the same with the True Love sentiment.
I used an old Spellbinders Die Set to cut and emboss the three layers shown at the top of the card.  My apologies as I no longer have the package this die set came in.
I typed the sentiment that is on the white topper and added one very small red heart and 3 tiny red gems.
To complete I added 3 gems to the top right and a personal verse to the inside of the card.

Please pop back tomorrow for the

SATURDAY SPECIAL GIVE ~ AWAY CARD

All you have to do is to leave me a comment on tomorrow's post and a winner will be drawn on Monday.

CARD COMMISSION

Hi, thanks for stopping by...
When I was asked to design a card for this particular lady, and as it was a 'special' birthday, I was told not to hold back on the on the decoration.
The lady in question happens to be a relative of mine too so...
Happy 50th Birthday Moya!
As it was for a 50th I thought it appropriate to use gold card

This is a white,  8" square card base with a gold narrow mat then another mat of white card
  • I used one of the corners dies from the 'Decorative Blossom Corner' and die cut the top left corner
  • I die cut just below the centre of the white card with the Lavish Swirls from the Diagonals Range
  • The floral element was made using the Cape Daisy from the Finishing Touches Collection
  • These were die cut and embossed with alternate gold and white card
  • I made three of these flowers in different sizes and glued them to the top right corner
  • The bling is from Hobby House.   I used only a partial amount from the set
  • I typed the sentiment, die cut it using the penultimate oval die from the set followed by die cutting another oval, in gold, using the eighth die from the set. I matted the sentiment onto the gold card and glued it to the bottom right
  • To complete I typed a personal verse and adhered it to the inside of the card
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog and hope my designs have given a little inspiration. I read all your comments and really appreciate you leaving me a message.

FOR SOMEONE SO SPECIAL

Hi, thanks for stopping by...
I love an aqua and white card!
  • This is an 8" square white card base with thin mats of aqua and white foundation card
  • I die cut  the Quilted Blocks Striplet Die twice on a piece of aqua card and covered the backs of both with some double sided adhesive sheet
  • I removed the backing sheet and added white card ~ there wasn't any need for extra adhesive as the adhesive sheets are very sticky!
  • Next I sprinkled Cosmic Shimmer Diamond Snow over the front of both striplets
You can see the sparkle a lot better in the above picture
  • For the next step I did exactly the same as above but reversed the colour combination
  • I added this piece onto mounting foam and adhered it in between the two striplet panels
  • The sentiment,  Sweet Wishes, was stamped onto white card then die cut using the two outer dies from the Indian Ocean Collection - Tag Duo, mounting foam was applied to the back then placed onto the centre of the card
  • To complete I added flat back pearls to the four corners of the card
INGREDIENTS:
  • Foundation Card
  • Striplet Die by Sue Wilson
  • Indian Ocean Collection - Tag Duo by Sue Wilson
  • Flat back pearls
  • Cosmic Shimmer Diamond Snow
  • Cosmic Shimmer Dries Clear Glue
  • Sweet Wishes Stamp Set  ~  all the above by Creative Expressions

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

Hi, thanks for stopping by...

We have a notelet card for you
 today.
A white card base, top folding, measuring 4"x5.5"
  •  I blanked the circle in the middle using my round paper punch on a post-it, ensuring the adhesive part stayed in tack and placed it onto the card
  • I used Ranger's Tattered Rose Ink Pad and a Smoothie by Creative Expressions to add the colour around the post-it circle
  • This was followed by stamped two swirls, in Black StazOn Ink, as shown.  These were part of a free gift and my apologies as I no longer have the details
  • I had several butterflies already die cut and, after removing the mask, adhered one flat to the card using Cosmic Shimmer Dries Clear PVA Glue
  • I used acrylic paints in a red and yellow colour to paint the butterfly and also painted the whole of the underneath with the yellow acrylic paint
  • When dry this was adhered to the card
  • I added white flat back pearls to the spine of the butterfly and carried on adding them to create a butterfly 'trail'
  • I then stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment using the Black StazOn Ink onto white card and 'fussy' cut it out.  Mounting foam was added to the back of this then adhered onto the card
  • To complete I dotted faux pearls around the card using White Twinkles PVA Glue by Creative Expressions

BLAST FROM THE PAST! - CARD WINNER

Hi, thanks for stopping by...

I really like the simplicity of this card!  It was also another commission.
It is an A4 white card and scored to make a top opening A5 card.
  • I embossed the card front using Spellbinders Garden Lattice embossing folder
  • On lilac card I cut and embossed the Aster Flower Topper Die Set by Spellbinders and glittered it
  • Next were the Spellbinders's 2 flourishes, also die cut, this time in green foundation card
  • I then typed the sentiment onto white foundation card and reduced the size of it to make the card topper
  • I added a pearl brad to the flower centre, punched a small hole in the white topper card and inserted this through the punched hole
  • I also added a little glue to the flower then adhered it to the corner of the topper card.  That done, I glued the flourishes below it then matted it onto lilac card
  • This was then matted onto the main card and glued to the base card
A quick and easy card today

THE WINNER OF SATURDAY'S CARD WILL BE ANNOUNCED AT
10am

Pop back then to see if you are the lucky one!

YOU ARE SO SPECIAL ~ ONE FOR THE BOYS

Hi, thanks for stopping by...
It can be so difficult making cards for the male species at times.  This was a card commission.
The man in question was moving house and doing some DIY as well as turning a 'special age'
  • I used the Shadow Box Die Set ~ Sue Wilson/Creative Expressions and die cut the frame in a brown foundation card ~ CE.  It was adhered to ivory foundation card ~ CE that I embossed using a 'dotted' embossing folder.  This was then adhered to the white card base, A5 size
  • The charms are by Hobby House and I glued those into the two cubbies, a silver 60 was also glued in the smallest cubby
  • As the charms were silver I die cut and embossed the house, by Joanna Sheene Die Set, in a pearlised light grey card stock to coordinate.  I also used mounting foam on the back for dimension and cut around 3 sides of the door to enable it to open a little
  • I stamped the sentiment onto white card using a brown ink pad, used a light brown felt pen to edge the sides then die cut it using one of the Pierced Flags by SW/CE.  I backed it with mounting foam to give it some dimension and curled it slightly
