MY WONDERFUL AUNT

Hello and welcome...
 A cute notelet card for you today, it's only 10.5cm x 13cm

This is from a small section of a gorgeous 12x12" paper from my stash

I used the largest die in the A2 matting Basics B to cut my top folding base card

I then cut the paper to mat onto the base card

I used a Tattered Lace/Tonic corner die (name and make unknown), die cut and embossed it onto a pale pink card then white

If you click on the image you'll see small sections of the pink card peeping out in places

I spray glued the white die cut onto the pink card  then adhered to the card

In my stash I came across a free set of stamps that had the ideal sentiment for me, they were joined onto other phrases so I cut them apart and used a StazOn Ink Pad to stamp the words

The words are very meaningful for me because my aunt is the most wonderful lady I've had the privilege of knowing, so proud to call her 'my aunt', she has always been more of a mother to me than an auntie, we are so very close even though she lives three and a half thousand miles away, in Canada!

NEW CHALLENGE AT MOVING ALONG WITH THE TIMES - MAWTT

Hello and welcome...
A new challenge starts today at MAWTT, Wendy/our leader, is the host and the challenge is:

WEDDING/ANNIVERSARY/ENGAGEMENT

Wendy has a gorgeous set of 'John Lockwood Stamps' for the winner of the challenge so please take a visit to MAWTT to see the fabulous creations from my teamies, you may want to enter your own card, especially with the delightful stamp set as a prize!

This is my contribution to the design team
I made this card for my husband as yesterday was our wedding anniversary.  In the 'flesh' the card has more copper tone although it does show to be more gold on the photo!
  • I started with thin mats of black and white foundation card.  The black base card measures 19.5cm x 17cm
  • on a smaller piece of white card I applied a piece of double sided adhesive sheet, removed the backing and added gilding flakes to it.  I burnished them in with a piece of rubit-scrubit and poured the left-over back into the pot
  • on white card I die cut and embossed the Scattered Leaves Background Die, added glue to the back and adhered it to the gilding flakes
  • I die cut and embossed the outer die from the Noble Die Set to create a frame and applied Old Gold Metallic Gilding Wax over it.  I then polished it with a paper towel and added mounting foam to the back for dimension
  • the sentiment is from my stash and was stamped onto white card using a StazOn Ink pad in Jet Black
  • I used an oval die to cut and emboss the sentiment, left it in the die and gently inked it, using a smoothie and Antique Linen Distress Ink
  • I added mounting foam to the back, again for dimension then adhered it to the centre of my card
  • to complete I added a personal verse

CHERISH

Hello and welcome...
I have been doing a' tidy' on my craft papers as I knew there were lots of pretty papers that had not seen the light of day and have made a decision to use two per week, well, hopefully, at least one per week!  So here is the start.

Most of my 12"x12" papers have been bought in Canada each year when visiting my dear aunt and this paper is one.  A very pretty peachy/apricot, I love the mottled colours.

I have used a DL white card base and used one of the double pierced ovals to die cut the paper then the centre of the 'Cathedral Background' plus the first size outer cutting die (from the same die set) to die cut the decorative design, in white card, prior to adhering it to the paper.

I used a selection of flowers to create the floral display.

There was a little of the paper left over and I stamped one of the sentiments from the 'Inspirational Sentiments' onto the paper using Jet Black StazOn Ink.

I used the outer die from the Frame One Die Set to die cut the frame on white card then added mounting foam to the back.  I then used the inner die  from the same set, to die cut the sentiment, once cut I adhered it to the white frame and glued it towards the bottom of my card.

I added a little glue randomly to the flowers then sprinkled them with glitter jewels but have yet to insert  paper and a verse to the inside of the card.

INGREDIENTS:
  • DL white card base ~ 21cmx10cm
  • Pretty paper ~ my stash
  • Cathedral Background Die ~ Sue Wilson/Creative Expressions (CE)
  • Mini Baroque 'Inspirational Sentiments' ~ CE
  • Cosmic Shimmer Dries Clear PVA Glue ~ CE
  • Diamond Snow Glitter Jewels ~ CE
  • Wild Orchard Flowers
  • Frame One Die Set ~ Spellbinders
  • Platinum Machine ~ Spellbinders

NEW CHALLENGE ~ #192 TIC, TAC, TOE

Hello and welcome...

Marlene is hosting the new challenge starting today at Crafty Cardmakers and this is my contribution to the Design Team.

The theme is, TIC, TAC, TOE
and if you pop over to the blog , or click on the highlighted link below, you'll see the grid guidelines to follow as well as my 'teamies' fabulous designs.

# 192 Tic, Tac, Toe

I chose the vertical grid on the right hand side, that is; embossing, buttons, die cuts.

I started with a 7" square ivory card and, with my chosen paper, a pretty green paper, I added a thin ivory ribbon, a little below centre.

I have had these gorgeous tiny brad buttons for years and never used them until making this card!  I attached 5 of them across the ribbon, centring them in the middle of each flower printed on the paper.

The flowers are die cuts and I arranged them in a slight arch to the top and bottom of the paper, and adhered another 3 roses, nearly in a vertical position,  to the off set middle of the design.

I stamped the sentiment onto ivory card, covered it with some double sided adhesive sheet then die cut it and embossed it.  I removed the backing and sprinkled glitter jewels over it and 'tucked' it under the ribbon.

To complete I randomly glued a few silver stars over the area.

INGREDIENTS:
  • Ivory card stock ~ my stash
  • Green floral paper ~ my stash
  • Sentiment ~ my stash
  • Sequins ~ my stash
  • Ivory ribbon ~ APAC
  • Flowers ~ Wild Orchid Crafts
  • Multi Tag Die Set ~ Tonic
  • Glitter Jewels/Diamond Snow ~ Creative Expressions (CE)
  • Cosmic Shimmer Dries Clear PVA Glue ~ CE
  • Double sided adhesive sheets ~ CE
  • Baby Button Brads ~ Woodware
  • Platinum Machine ~ Spellbinders

PEARLS AND PURPLE ABUNDANCE!

Hello and welcome...
Today's card would need to be either boxed or hand delivered to the recipient, although the 'petals' can be flattened I don't think they would 'recover' very well once the card was opened.  I started with a 7" white card base and added a layer of  lilac foundation card as a narrow border.  The pretty purple paper is from my stash and I probably bought this at least 12 years ago!

The paper was a 12" square that I cut to sit on top of the lilac card leaving another narrow border.

I added the white lace to the card front and secured it onto the back of the lilac card and adhered the layers onto the white base card.

I used the largest die from the Damask Motifs to create my 'bouquet'.  I die cut 5 of these on lilac card, sprayed them with adhesive then sprinkled Glitter Jewels 'Iced Snow' over each one.  I then glued the 'petals' together and set them to the side to dry.

I used only 3 dies from the set of 5 to create the white circular design beside the lace.  I cut about a quarter of it away so that I had a straight edge when I glued it beside the lace.

Wet glue was added to the back of the 'bouquet' at the base and adhered to the card.  I added a large white pearl embellishment to the base of it.

To complete I added 8mm white flat back pearls to the lace and smaller flat back pearls to the top right and bottom right of the card

I've attached a photo of the dies used and, there is a prize for the first person who can tell me the correct name of the black die set!
The 'mystery' die set!

INGREDIENTS:
  • 7" white card base ~ my stash
  • Lilac Foundation Card ~ Creative Expressions (CE)
  • Purple Butterfly Paper ~ my stash
  • White Card ~ Papermill
  • White Lace ~ Club Green

  • White pearls, various sizes ~ CE
