JUST FOR YOU ~ SATURDAY SPECIAL GIVE-AWAY CARD

Hi, thanks for popping by...

I have a CAS (clean and simple) design for today's give-away.
I've used Peach and Black Foundation Card by CE, the Background Die from SW's Belgian Collection for CE (I used only the large die and the inner cutting die) as well as the Mia Die by SW for CE, the Mia Die Set is a 3 part set, I chose not to use the inner circle die for this design and stamped the sentiment onto the centre using Ranger's Black Soot Ink Pad.

If you would like to give this card a new home all you need to do is leave me a comment and I will use Random.org Name Picker to choose a name on Monday morning

Have a great weekend

BE THE CHANGE

Hi, thanks for popping by...

I have to start by saying how I wish you could see this card in the 'flesh'!! We have had such a time trying to get the colouring right and this is the best of them all, lol!  Adjusting the contrast, and just about everything else, resulted in the image being either too dark or too light.  I plumped for the lighter one, which is the top card, then went back to the other images, did a few more clicks resulting in the second card.  What is your opinion?  It really is a pretty delicate shade... may be I should have kept this for the Saturday Give-Away Card and at least the recipient would see the true colours lol.

This is an 8" square card.  I stamped the sentiment, Change by Clarity,  using Worn Lipstick Distress Ink.  On another piece of white card I stamped the Rose Stamp by Clarity several times with Perfect Medium Clear Ink Pad.  I sprinkled WOW Opaque Embossing Powder over the image and heat set it.  I used Mowed Lawn Distress Ink to add colour to the edge of the card, then Worn Lipstick Distress Ink, and finally Squeezed Lemonade Distress Ink to the centre.  I used a paper towel to buff the image.

On a separate piece of white card I stamped the Carnation by Clarity, sprinkled WOW Opaque Embossing Powder over the image and heat set it.  I placed a Spellbinders Die over this then using  the same inks as on the larger card coloured the image then die cutting and embossing it.  Mounting Foam was added to the back of this topper.  I glittered one small butterfly and then added two white flat back pearls to it, the other butterfly I coloured with Squeezed Lemonade, not forgetting to colour the underside too and added one flat back pearl.

To complete the card I adhered a lace trim to one side of the larger image (I had this die cut in my stash) then adhered the smaller topper.  I added three 8mm white flat back pearls to the top right of the card.

As it is St Patrick's Day tomorrow I have a fun card to share with you

Thank you for visiting, I read all your comments and appreciate you taking the time to leave me a message and hope my designs have given a little inspiration.

Hi, thanks for popping by...

Sometime in our life, unfortunately, we may need to send a sympathy card.  A friend of ours has had a bereavement and this is the card  I made to send to her.
I stamped directly onto a white 6" square card using an Adirondak Ink Pad in Slate.  The image is as shown on the card, it is a good size stamp, to-date I do not have who makes the stamp, so if you know please let me know!
I used a light and a medium green pencil to colour the leaves then cut two thin strips of card, one in black, the other in a pale green and adhered these to the side of the card.
A personal message was inserted to complete the card.

I made extra of the same card and now have these stored, although I do hope I never have to send another.  You may be asked to make a sympathy card and having a few in stock does help

I am so happy you have visited today and hope you have been inspired.  Your comments are always welcome and I do read them all

TUESDAY TUTORIAL

Hi, thanks for popping by...

I love the Jewelled Heart Die Set so much that I decided to show you another way it can be used, compared to yesterday's card, where I created a shadow effect with it.
Below are the 'ingredients'  for today's card/tutorial

  • Fillables - Jewelled Heart Die Set by SW for CE
  • Heart Shaped Treat Cups by CE
  • Stamp Set by John Lockwood for CE
  • Cascading Hearts Embossing Folder by SW for CE
  • Cosmic Shimmer Dries Clear PVA Glue by CE
  • Adirondak 'Pitch Black' Ink Pad by Ranger
  • MISTI Stamping Tool ~ my preference but not obligatory
  • Crafter's Companion Pearlised card
  • Silver Mirri Card (my own stash)
  • Flowers (my own stash)
  • Spellbinders' Platinum Machine

I cut the pearlised card to 6.75"x5.5" and placed this inside my MISTI.  The area to be stamped was dusted with an anti-static bag prior to placing the stamp in position.  I inked the stamp with the pitch black ink pad and stamped the card.  I only stamped this once as I did not want a heavy black sentiment when the rest of the card was white and silver.

The inner cutting die was put into position and die cut.  Once cut I then place the card in the embossing folder and ran it through my Platinum.  This is my personal choice for die cutting and embossing.  I still have my 2 Grand Caliburs and my trusty Cuttlebug.  The Cuttlebug is ideal to sit on your work table when card making, providing you are using smaller dies, and my Grand Calibur machines are used when I have card classes.

I applied Cosmic Shimmer Glue to the back of the heart cut out and near to the edge prior to placing the treat cup into the aperture.  You will see above how, when I applied pressure to the treat cup edge, the glue as spread a little.  That is not a problem, you need to have the treat cup securely adhered to the card.  To ensure the contents would not 'escape' I then added ordinary tape to the edges.
I added the cut out hearts, from the die set, and some silver sequins into the treat cup then adhered a piece of silver mirri over the opening to ensure the contents remained in the cup!

I am unable to show you just how beautiful the Jewelled Heart actually is once it is die cut because using mirri card did not produce a clear image when photographed on its own.  It is a beautiful die set and if you scroll to yesterday's post you will see I have used it there but on white card and pink card.  Prior to adhering the mirri jewelled heart, over the treat cup, I added Cosmic Shimmer Glue around the base of the cup.  I then applied the glue to the back of the die cut but, not, to the edge of the mirri because I am unable to do this without spreading the glue over the outer part of the treat cup!  So if you add the glue to the cut edge, as above, you should not mark the cup

To complete the card I added one heart to the top right of the card and a few flowers to the bottom left of the card.  These were from my stash

Thank you for visiting, I do read all your comments and appreciate you taking the time to leave me a message. I also hope my designs give a little inspiration

#184 For A Special Woman/Girl or Mother's Day

Hi, thanks for popping by...

Today's card has been made for our new challenge at Crafty Cardmakers, please pop over and see the fantastic designs my 'teamies' have made.  You're welcome to join in the challenge.  Here is the link:
#184 For A Special Woman/Girl or Mother's Day

I have used taupe foundation card and baby pink foundation card by Creative Expressions. I halved the taupe card horizontally then cut nearly 4" from one side.  I die cut SW's 'Jewelled Heart' from her 'fillables' range in taupe and baby pink.  I used Cosmic Shimmer Dries Clear PVA Glue to  adhere the pink die cut then adhered the taupe die cut to slightly overlap creating a shadow effect.  I ran an anti-static bag around the inside of the treat cup then added some of the hearts from the die set.  I then cut a smaller piece of acetate and adhered that to the back of the treat cup to secure the contents.
A piece of white lace was then adhered to the card then the jewelled heart was added on top of the lace.  I glittered 3 of the hearts with Diamond Snow - Glitter Jewels by Creative Expressions and attached them to one corner of the card.  The sentiment is from the Amazing Sentiments Set by Creative Expressions and I stamped it, onto another piece of taupe card,  with Adirondack 'Slate' Ink Pad. I 'fussy cut' this and adhered it to the base of my card, added a few more of the tiny hearts around it and inserted a verse to complete the card.
I hope you like my contribution to the current challenge and please check out my fellow Design Teams' blogs as they have made some stunning creations.

YOU'RE A STAR

Hi, thanks for popping by
I made this card for my youngest brother's birthday.  He loves football, golf and I'm sure many other sports and using the Shadow Box is an ideal way to incorporate some of his likes.
I used a gorgeous pearlised blue A4 card, by Crafter's Companion, and folded it in half for an A5 card.  I die cut the Shadow Box Frame by SW for CE in a lighter blue card from my stash, and added mounting foam to the back of each cubby.  I then embossed a piece of Brilliant White Foundation Card by CE using one of SW's embossing folders, and my apologies as I will get back to you with the name of it! The frame was then adhered to the embossed white card.  I created two boarders using SW's Double Pierced Rectangles, one in the same darker blue card and a wider one in white card.  These were adhered to the main card.  Using the same darker, pearlised blue card I die cut 'You're A Star,' 'Brother,' and 'Happy Birthday, ' '#1,'  3 times for each element, adhered them together to create dimension.  The 'Happy Birthday' was die cut using the lighter blue card.
From my card stash I die cut the tennis racket and ball in white card and coloured them.  I did the same for the golf club and ball then die cut 3 of each footballs (in orange and yellow card) I used Kraft card for the rugby ball then coloured the stitching in a lighter brown using one of my coloured pens.

Brother was adhered below You're A Star at a jaunty angle.  A verse completed the card.

Thank you for visiting, I hope you get a little inspiration from my designs, your comments are always welcome
