Hello and welcome...
I have a pretty blue sparkle card for you today.  Blue and white is one of my favourite colour combinations
This is one of my older cards so I may be a little vague about the products I used.  So from what I remember we have:
  • an 8" square white base card with mats of blue and white card
  • on the final mat of white card I used a stencil and a teal texture paste and spread the paste over the stencil, then carefully removed the stencil to set it aside to dry.  I always leave these overnight for drying purposes
  • in the bottom left corner I added white tulle then a white organza bow and strands of petite white pearls
  • I created a flower in the same blue card and adhered it over the knot in the bow
  • in the top right corner I added strands of blue pearls and blue organza flowers as well as one white flower
  • I'm sure the sentiment is a Clarity Stamp sentiment and one that I love to use

I read all your comments and really appreciate you leaving me a message.

Hello and welcome...
As the title states, today is a new blog challenge at MAWTT (Moving Along With The Times), and this is my contribution as part of the design team

Back to the new challenge!
Sue is hosting Team B's Challenge at MAWTT and the theme is
'Embossing Wet And/Or Dry'
if you click on the link below it will take you to the blog and you'll see the gorgeous cards my 'teamies' have made:
INGREDIENTS:
  • white 8" square card base
  • black and lilac foundation card ~ Creative Expressions (C E)
  • embossing folder 'Regency Frame' ~ Crafter's Companion
  • Frames & Tags 'Alexandra' Collection ~ Sue Wilson/C E
  • sentiment ~ Sweet Wishes/C E

SENDING HUGS

I love this 'Hobnail Vase' Die by Sue Wilson ~Creative Expressions!

I have been sorting my card bundles and came across this white base card by Hunkydory.  I'm not so keen on the 'punched hole' scalloped border, but must have liked it at the time of buying!
Now that I have that out of the way let's jump in as to how I made the card:
  • 6" square white card base by Hunkydory with thin mats of aqua, black and white foundation card by Creative Expressions
  • I did the same for the top raised section and cut a 4" mat of aqua card then black and finally white card
  • I embossed the top piece of white card using the 'Falling Hearts' EF by SW ~ CE
  • Using a Woodward corner punch I punched 3 corners of the white card and adhered this to the remaining mats, added mounting foam to the back of the aqua card and adhered it in a diamond shape onto the card base.  I only punched 3 corners as I wanted only the black card showing behind the flowers
  • I die cut the Hobnail Vase Die in black glossy card and gave it a little shaping prior to adding mounting foam to the back
  • I then die cut several Lily Of The Valley Flowers by SW ~ CE in white card and removed the leaves from the larger flowers so to leave me with the white flower heads.  These were then glued to the back of the vase then adhered to the card
  • I stamped the sentiment  from the Sweet Wishes Stamp Set by C E onto aqua card using a black StazOn ink pad
  • I used the smallest tag die from a set I also found in my stash, I'd like to say it was by Tonic as the packaging is orange and the dies are a light chrome colour (note to self, leave identification on stash!!)
  • When this was die cut it sat just so at the bottom right corner of the card and the hole in the tag covered another of the punched holes on the base card
  • Using Cosmic Shimmer White PVA Glue I created 3 pearls to the top right and 3 to the bottom left of the card

#190 FOR A SPECIAL MAN/BOY OR FATHER'S DAY

Hello and welcome...

Margaret is hosting our challenge today at Crafty Cardmakers, and the theme is
 'For a Special Man/Boy or Father's Day'

As usual anything you care to enter is fine, a card, scrap layout, mixed media piece, some home decor, as long as it follows either of our masculine themes.
Please remember our 15 total challenge rule!
Click on the link above to see some inspiration from our fabulous DT ~ this is my contribution:
I made this for our 9 year old grandson to give to his dad for his birthday
  • I cut a piece of white card a little smaller than the 8" square base card
  • I embossed it with a Crafter's Companion 'Sunrays' Embossing Folder
  • I then used several Distress Inks by Ranger to add colour
  • This was then glued to a mat of black card and 4 brads by Hobby House were added to the corners, then adhered to the base card
  • The Woodware Sentiment was stamped onto white card with a StazOn Ink Pad in Jet Black
  • I cut and embossed it with a scalloped oval frame by Spellbinders, added mounting foam to it and attached to the card
  • To complete a personal verse was inserted
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog, I hope my designs have given a little inspiration.

GOOD EVENING! - WE ARE SAILING...

Hello and welcome...
We have had a busy weekend at Poppyfield Card Craft HQ celebrating a very dear friend's 70th birthday.  He is a master boat builder which is why I'm including a non-related card photo in this post.  Here is his birthday card
The porthole opens on the card

This very talented man was asked to restore a historic lifeboat, the 'George Elmy' .  The Seaham RNLI lifeboat was hit by tragedy on 17 November 1962, after being called to the aid of a fishing coble.

Some of you will know that I also make and decorate celebration cakes, so I knew what design to make for this special celebration... a smaller version of the 'George Elmy.'
The cake is 2ft long and approximately 8" high, excluding the wheel house sitting on top

The birthday boy loved it and a good weekend was had by all.

Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog, I hope my designs have given a little inspiration.
I read all your comments and really appreciate you leaving me a message

Saturday's card winner will be announced tomorrow at 10am
